Eagle Watching
Grab your binoculars, put on an overcoat and gloves, and come on out to Meredosia this January and enjoy a wonderful Eagle-Watching opportunity! Meredosia is well-known as one of Illinois' premier Eagle-Watching areas, and this event provides the viewing of Bald Eagles at a close-by location, along with related presentations and workshops. The event will be held in Meredosia, Illinois (located between Jacksonville & Beardstown on State Highway 104). Meredosia is only 20 minutes from hotel accommodations in Jacksonville.
This year take an interpreted bus tour. Tours are 2 hours long and leave on Saturday at 9am, 11am, 1pm & 3pm. Sunday 12pm only. Sunday attend the Illinois Raptor Show at 2pm. Tickets: Adults $20, kids 13 & under $5, kids 6 & under Free. Raptor Show only without tour, tickets $5.
Stop by at the River Museum as you arrive to receive your Eagle-Watching info packet, hospitality and refreshments, driving map/directions, children's activities, tours of the museum, and purchase your own Cuddly Raptor with an authentic raptor call!
Sponsors include the Meredosia Historical Society and the Jacksonville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Organizers are expecting a big visitor turnout to celebrate this weekend event.
